List building is one of the most important component of most online business models. It works for all industries, all niches, and in most cases your list is the most valuable asset of your business.

Learning about what tools e-mail marketers use to attract visitors and build their own opt-in list with these methods. I use literally dozens of methods of driving traffic to my websites and affiliate promotions.

Making use of list building programs used to be one method that I rarely used, but that was a mistake, you see list builders are a surefire way to boost your traffic and sign ups. A fast and efficient service to get your message out into the marketplace.

List Joe -  A responsive list of over 30,000 members, I get an average click through rate of 4.5% and this site achieves over 96% deliverability rate on the e-mails sent. Join the recommended listbuilders in the member’s area to help you boost your sign ups in other traffic programs too.

The List Auction – similar to List Joe. Each e-mail you receive contains a credit link to help you build your credits. Includes a useful quick start video series. Get 500 bonus credits for every member you refer. Build your referals down 10 levels.

List Dot Com – Viral list building site owned by Mike Filsaime. Over 100,000 double opt-in members waiting for you. The more members you refer the more members you can contact with each mailing you send. Earn residual income and build your downline to 20 levels, so start building your contact list at ListDotCom today.

List Joe and The List Auction both work by giving credits for reading other members e-mails, these two alone let you e-mail to 4,500 members every week as a free member.

All of these programs are free to join but also have a paid option which will increase the size of your audience and the speed of your success. Watch out for the One Time Offer when you sign up for a huge discount on the price in the members area.

Tracking Your Traffic

Filed Under (List Building, Traffic) by Paul on 02-05-2009

The one thing all successful Internet Marketers will tell you is to track your traffic.

Why track your traffic

Ultimatly it will save you time, money and hours of frustration, after all there is little point advertising your squeeze page or sales pages where you are not getting a worthwhile return.

If you are running an ad campaign then by tracking your traffic you can identify the places your pages are running that are providing you with the best response. Therefore allowing you to dump the places that are showing only small or worse still no returns on your time and efforts.

How do you track your traffic

You can use a software application either hosted on your own hosting account or one hosted by a third party. There are several out there on the web that are free to use, being free often means that they can have limitations such as a reduced number of tracking pages or limited statistics avaiable. But they can still be very useful and you can always upgrade at a later date if you want to.

There are two third party applications that I use on a regular basis, and they are My Viral Surfer and Hits Connect. I do have accounts with others but these two are very effective.

My Viral Surfer

This program allows for plenty pages to be tracked with a free account, and will provide good stats on where your visitors are coming from to access your pages. My Viral Surfer also has plenty of other features you can make use of so sign up for free today and test it out.

Hits Connect

A free account allows you to track up to 10 campaigns, provides stats for daily, weekly and monthly hits. Tracks repeat visitors as well as unique visits, it even tells you what browser the visitor was using. It also includes a rotator for your campaigns and a banner rotator to allow you to rotate banners, this is a great advantage because you only have to go to one place whenever you want to change or add a banner.

By tracking your traffic you will know exactly where your clicks are coming from. This will then allow you to cut out the poorer performing ones and concentrate your efforts on the places that are producing results for you, letting you make efficient use of your time and advertising budget.

Do Traffic Exchanges Really Work?

The first thing you have to ask yourself is: What do I want the click exchange to do for me?

If you want to promote a product or website directly by placing your URL on the Traffic Exchange and then surfing like mad to get your site shown once for every two that you see, then the answer is NO!

When you are surfing what are you thinking? Maybe “that’s 20 another 10, and then I’ll get my site seen 10 times for free” etc, what do you think everyone else is thinking? The same!

So let’s look at this logically: Who’s surfing click exchanges? Answer: Other internet marketers that are trying to get more free traffic to their sites in order to sell them a product or concept.

When you’re surfing what do you want?

Answer: More free advertising for your website. Right?

So wouldn’t it make sense to offer other marketers more free advertising and customers? Of course it would!

How can we do that? Simply create a webpage on your site that is super lightweight (loads quickly) looks like a bonus or reward page from the exchange you are using, it should have some traffic lights or stop signs etc.

Only have a few words such as CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE WON!  To receive your free report that tells you how to get MORE FREE ADVERTISING and BUILD YOUR LIST! Enter your details here: It sounds cliché I know, but it’s ethical and you do give them a valuable prize.

That’s all there is to it, that person is automatically emailed a free gift as the first email from your autoresponder that is set up just for this purpose.

You now have an internet marketer on your mailing list and it isn’t spam.

Using Traffic Exchange Trickster, I’ve found that this works for me; why not give it a go!

Using Free Traffic Exchanges

Filed Under (List Building, Traffic) by Paul on 31-03-2009

Often Traffic Exchanges are the first place where newbie marketers go to generate traffic to their web sites.

With traffic exchanges you view the sites of other members for a set period of time and earn credits, you can then spend these credits having your pages viewed by other members.

Most Traffic Exchanges are free to join, with a paid upgrade which will often include a better credit ratio as a reward for your surfing and monthly credits, banner ads and/or text ads. Credits are usually in the reion of 3:1 or 2:1 for free members, upgraded members will normally get a 1:1 ratio. i.e. 1 credit for each site you view.

The majority of marketers fail to take full advantage of Traffic Exchanges.

TE’s allow you to email your downlines that you have built in these programs. You can promote your products and services through your emails to your downlines. You should also consider encouraging the downlines you build to continue to surf and upgrade their accounts. Take full advantage of contacting your downlines through these weekly emails.

As your downlines surf you will earn credits from thier efforts as well as your own, this will allow you to increase your advertising or you can reduce your surfing and spend the time working on other areas of your business.

Traffic Exchange members are looking for more traffic. One of the most obvious things to advertise to them is other traffic building programs.

Advertising on TE’s is best carried out using a squeeze page, other traffic building programs realise this and often offer a selection to choose from so you can promote their programs. Use an attention grabbing headline to get surfers looking at your pages. Use a graphic of your product or your picture on the page along with a list of benefits and an opt-in form. The idea here is to have the viewer wanting to find out more information and therefore prepared to give you their contact information.

If you are not using Firefox then I strongly advise you download and install it now as it has a tabbed browser which will allow you to have multiple tabs open when you are surfing, this way you can surf several TE’s at the same time. I would suggest 5 TE’s at the same time.

Using fast tab will allow for faster changing between tabs as you surf.

Spending 30 minutes surfing can earn you around 450 credits.

Start by advertising other traffic building programs in the TE’s and promote your opportunity through your downline emails, as your sign ups start to produce credits for you, you can promote your product or service through TE’s by splitting your credits. As a free member just make sure that you don’t spread your credits to thinly, remember viewers may need to see your page up to 7 times before they take action. It is advisable to only offer free products such as reports or ‘lite’ versions of software.

7 Ways That Will Increase Your Web Traffic

Filed Under (Traffic) by Paul on 06-02-2009

Do you want more traffic?

Well, I’m sure you answered yes to that question, we all want more traffic to our websites.

Here are some ideas you can use to get more traffic to your sites starting today.

1. “Offer your E-zine free to subscribers” Tell your visitors to subscribe to your e-zine. When they subscribe you’ll capture their e-mail address. Every time they read your e-zine, it will remind them to return to your site.

2. “Bookmark This Web Site Now” Tell your visitors to bookmark your web site. They may see your web site listed in their bookmarks and visit again. You should also give then a good reason to bookmark your site. For example tell them you add new content everyday.

3. “Set-up an online survey” Ask visitors to fill out your online survey or questionnaire. You could use it to get useful feedback on ways to improve your website to increase traffic.

4. “Create an Affiliate Program for your products” Allow your visitors to make money selling your products or services. This will increase your traffic because they will link to your
web site.

5. “Use Tell a friend script” Ask your visitors to refer your web site to a friend(s). They may know someone that would benefit from visiting your
web site.

6. “Let visitors use your content for free on their site” Allow your visitors to use your articles on their own web site or in their e-zine. Just ask them to include your resource box. This will circulate your advertising all over the web.

7. “Set up a discussion board” Ask your visitors to participate on your online discussion board. By taking part they will meet other people. By meeting other people, they will  revisit your web site on a regular basis to stay in contact with them.

These are just a few things you can do to attract more visitors to your website. They are all pretty easy to get set-up, why not plan on adding one or two to your site and increase your web traffic starting today.
